As a public librarian and an entrepreneur, I tend to focus on money flows a lot...lately I've started working on a micro-funding platform for libraries...it struck me a while back, why don't libraries around the world have a mechanism for peer to peer financing or giving...i can jump online and in a couple of clicks send funds to Vida Latsaza in Nkurankan, Ghana, a woman who wants to expand her fried fish business, see others who are funding her efforts and what other projects they are funding or I could fund in pretty much any part of the world (for example, visit kiva.org)...but I can't easily give money to a local library one town over...or even have any idea of what special projects or initiatives they would like to fund...any thoughts out there on financing models and how they are/could be transformed, power and risk issues, etc?
