Hello! I've been in a public library for 9 years, working with both adult and youth services. I'm experimenting with the various ways the Web is becoming how we interact with our patrons. I love this idea of seeing how libraries around the world are doing the same thing!! I'm thinking about creating a MySpace page for our library and working on a blogging workshop with my staff. Is this the sort of thing we'll see during this Global Week?

Hi Bonnie -- Like you (and probably most of the others here) I'm a member of multiple library-related Ning communities. I'm the project editor of Resources for College Libraries, a new reference work developed by Choice for the ACRL as a successor to Books for College Libraries, 3rd ed. I also teach in the library science program at Southern Connecticut State University.

Hello--I'm a high school librarian in the Austin, Texas area.

I'm fascinated by blogging (my main one is at www.futura.edublogs.org), how web 2.0 tools will affect our students and culture, and how I as a librarian can participate in that.

I've set a personal goal next year to help bring in some global elements into some of our assignments and research projects, so I hope this organization helps facilitate that.

Hi, I'm Beth Gallaway, an independent library trainer and consultant. I blog for lots of people: YALSA and MLA, and administrate the Hip Librarian's Book Blog and Game On: Gaming In Libraries blog. I'm into Second Life and my Nintendo Wii, and do a lot of how-to workshops on Web 2.0 applications like del.icio.us, IM, blogging, myspace, wikis and podcasting. Thanks for organizing this group, Bonnie!

Hi!!

I'm presently a children's librarian in small town Wisconsin, formerly a city girl and World language/Global Studies teacher. I'm REALLY looking for folks to correspond with to share ideas, etc., about bringing the rest of the world into the tiny little corner we live in presently. I LOVE to share my global experiences with all the kids I come into contact with....real people, real contacts make that so much more, well....real!! All discussions, ideas, intros from ANYWHERE welcome!
