- About Me:
- I am the library director for the Geneva Public Library in Geneva Alabama. Geneva's population is just over 4000. Geneva County has about 26,000 people. The county has two full time libraries (open 5 days a week at least 8 hours each day) and two part time libraries (open 5 days a week 4 hours each day). Geneva Public Library is a full time library.
The Geneva Public Library was established in 1904. It is an honor to work every day in library that is over 100 years old.
We currently have four public access computers. We average 24 computers users each day. We also have secure wireless access that is available 24 hours a day. Our library catalog is available on line.
We have worked so hard to bring our tiny rural library up to speed technologically with larger libraries. We also went one step further by using Linux on our staff and public computers instead of windows. We saved a lot of money with that move. :)

This is a very nice social and professional meeting place for librarians. I spend too much time on the computer anyway so this is great for me.
I visit my profile on mySpace about once a week and that will probably be about what I do here. This is really nice. So easy to set up and configure. It reminds me a little of Vox.
